what to do after dinner?

have u ever thought of what to do after a dinner outing with a bunch of friends??
have the scenarios like.... lets vote, lets go yum cha again, play snooker, or watch movie..... happen to you all before??

well, the guys that i hang out with and myself always have this issue... we can't plan anything after dinnner... maybe becoz all of us are getting old too lazy to organise or just dont know what to do...

so recently i was doing some mini research on interesting places to hang out... idea is pretty simple,... to find a place that we can hang out, simple lounge music.......decent food, relatively good amount of crowd... and maybe some sorta live performance or something...

so did my research.. and ta-da... i found groove junction... ( go google it yourself)

what is it?? is a bar, that looks like a restaurant and feels like a pub...
what music??? you just have to go there man.. it's the sorta music that will just let u sit back n relax... literally.... jen n i got there around 8ish.. n didn't go back till 1am (saturday night fever).

particularly interesting this couple of months is that this lady called denise minifield or something like that is performing.. she's a african-american from the land of the GOVERNATOR.. i think u can sorta imagine what songs she sings... soulful, jazzy kinda music.. ..

so if u have a chance.. pop by n check it out.. they also have this killer drummer.. n his name is arthur kam... small kid with a HUGE amount of talent on drums. (he's on youtube as well)

hope to see u there!

Yeah, I've been there with Bee Chin to see Aseana Percussion Unit (APU) perform. I quite like the ambience and coziness...however, jazz isn't my thing. :)

Steph beat me to it! Yes, the ambience was super and the food was equally nice. We were pleasantly surprised because we went there with the express desire to watch APU and they were AWESOME! (HAD to show Steph who was this Malaysian band that completely impressed at the Rainforest World Music Festival 2007!)

I remember these group of friends in their mid-thirties catching up and these 3 aunties in another table. Despite the chilled out ambience, GJ can also turn into a dancefloor. During the catchier songs, both groups got up to boogie with the singer. Overall, it was a good first experience at GJ!
